Club Fitting - How to Buy The Perfect Golf Club

At Seymour Golf & Country Club we take every club purchase seriously. Our philosophy
on purchasing golf clubs guarantees an end result that you will be completely happy with.

The process below explains our approach in detail.  Our investment in
demonstrator products, our trained CPGA staff, and our belief that satisfied customers are our best
form of advertising will ensure your satisfaction.

1. Trust
You are about to make a substantial investment in your golfing future. Good advice
and proper club fitting will have a direct impact on your golfing enjoyment for many years
to come. The relationship you form with your golf professional while purchasing this
set of clubs can have a dramatic impact on the results. As this relationship will continue well
after the final sale, we are committed to making your club purchasing experience a positive one.

Our CPGA trained staff are all qualified in the science of club fitting, and eager to help.
Keeping up with the latest in golf club innovation along with informative annual seminars
make a CPGA Professional an important link in the club purchasing chain. This knowledge
base, combined with a noncommissioned staff, ensures we have your best interest in
mind. You never have to worry about a pushy salesperson steering you in the wrong direction.

Over the years, our business has continued to grow due to positive referrals.
This means our success is based on your success. We take great pride in making
sure that your clubs suit your game.

2. The Demo Experience
Each year technology improves and provides golfers with more options
than ever before. These developments provide the average player with clubs that
offer tremendous benefits in terms of playability. Often we see customers
arrive with preconceptions of which club is right for them. This is fine,
we all have our preferences, but don’t let them stop you from experiencing clubs
of all types from different manufacturers. By testing all of the clubs available you give
yourself the opportunity to make an informed decision. This is the fun part, kind of like
sampling all the candies in a candy store.

How many clubs should you try? We have over $30,000 invested in demo clubs for
you to choose from. This means we offer demo clubs from many of the major
manufacturers with varying shafts and lofts where applicable. We recommend that
you try as many clubs as possible, and then narrow down your choices based on the
results you experience to a few solid contenders. Next, take those clubs out on
the course and do some more testing. The driving range is a great start, but remember, we don’t
count our score on the range!

The next step is to arrange time with one of our CPGA professionals who will assist you
in selecting the perfect club for you. Together on the range, we will combine your experiences,
beliefs and feelings with our expert knowledge to reach a conclusion. Our recommendation is
based on ball flight and how the golf club influences your swing. Ball flight is a key
component in this process. We must see the flight of the ball! Computers and nets are no
substitute for seeing results with your own eye.

3. Get Fit
During the demo stage of your club selection you have been using “standard” golf
clubs. These standards are specific to each manufacturer. For instance, a standard regular
shaft can react quite differently between manufacturers. How do you know which is
best for you? Don’t worry, that’s our job! If you have seen benefits from using our “standard”
demo clubs, then when the fitting process is complete you’ll be even happier.

Club fitting is the process by which we determine what specification a club must be
built to benefit your game the most. There are several factors which affect a custom fit
including your body size, swing speed, tempo, and desired shot pattern. All of these factors,
combined with our expertise, will create the ideal club for you. Club-fitting will find the
correct specifications for the following:

• Lie angle, quite possibly the most important of all the factors. It determines whether or
not the club is soled correctly at impact. A club that is not soled correctly at impact
will create wayward shots.

• Shaft flex, the shaft is the engine of the golf club, get it tuned properly and the ball will
fly. The factors affecting shaft performance are many, but we will determine the correct
shaft type, flex, and length for your golf swing.

• Grip size can have a dramatic impact on your feel and control of the clubface.

• Swing weight, although not commonly adjusted, can be integrated to suit certain

All of these variables are interrelated; if you change one, the others are affected. Together,
we will create a club for your body type and swing. Your perfect club.

4. Have Fun
You now have the perfect set of clubs tailored to suit your specific needs. Go and play
with confidence. After 3 to 4 weeks of play and practice we will invite you back for a 15 minute
check-up just to ensure everything is right. You’ll spend a little more time with a CPGA
professional to make sure the fit you received is correct and producing the desired results.

Pricing Policy
People are generally apprehensive about buying golf clubs from a full service CPGA Golf
Shop. They believe that the price will be significantly higher than that of the off course
stores. We understand this concern and wish to present our pricing policy as two simple
straight forward options:

1. If you do not wish to take advantage of using our demo equipment or any of our
club fitting services we will match any written price for identical in stock
equipment. Or,

2. For all of the previously described services and access to our demonstration
equipment, our equipment price will, at the most, include a premium of $20 per top line
wood or $40 per set of irons (when compared to other stores regular prices).
Sometimes you may find our prices are equal to or less than the off course stores.
We regularly check our prices against those of our competitors to ensure accuracy.

We believe these options will offer everyone with the opportunity to purchase
their golf equipment at a fair price.
